Measures fasting glucose with HbA1c, which reflects average blood sugar over roughly the previous three months. Together they describe how your body has been handling sugar over time, rather than on one morning.
Results are returned and explained privately by the clinic. Nothing is published on this website.
How to prepare
Fasting required
Fasting required. Please have nothing to eat for 8 to 12 hours before your appointment. Water is fine, and keep taking any prescribed medicines unless your doctor has told you otherwise. A morning appointment is usually easiest. Drinking water beforehand makes the sample quicker to take.
